Dear Supporters,

I would like to thank all of you for your strong support for the Hayon campaign and more important, to protect our children.  Although I did not win the Assembly race, I did raise an important issue not just amongst our community, but to all elected officials in NYS.

Receiving 43% of the vote while running just about a one-man campaign and spending just $615 is clearly the hand of God.  Truth is that I needed just $3,000 more to win this campaign, but the ways of God cannot be questioned.  Hopefully, Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz had a change of heart, and will not sponsor any more bills that will hurt our children or our community.

I owe a special thanks to all publications that covered the Hayon campaign  without considering the chances of winning.

Also, a special thanks to the rabbis that united behind my race for Assembly.

In addition, I would like single out Rabbi Yisroel Belsky, who never endorsed a candidate and most likely never will again.  He went against his usual policy of not endorsing candidates because he saw the spiritual harm involved in the legislation sponsored.

All my volunteers that helped me, either directly or indirectly, I would not have achieved this goal without all of you.

I owe gratitude to all those that donated to my campaign; specially those donors that are low income.

In addition, I must thank each and every voter that came out in the cold weather to vote for me.

Most important, I owe a special thanks to my dear wife, who was patient and sacrificed living without a husband during the campaign season to protect her children and our community’s children.  When there is a good man, there is always a good woman behind him.

Joseph Hayon was nominated by the Conservative Party, Republican Party, and the School Choice Party. He was endorsed by many Rabbis and Republican leaders.
